Assignment by Frances Barker of Southwold (Suff.), widow, at the request of John Wickens of Southwold, gentleman, and Margaret his wife, to Edmund Ludbrooke of Walpole (Suff.), yeoman, and John Hugman of Halsworth (Suff.), gentleman, for the sum of £40 of a messuage, etc., in Southwold between the house and lands late of Edward Hose, deceased, and sometime of John Barett to the north and west, and the land sometime of Richard Welton to the east, now in the occupation of the said John Wickens, with all the estate of Frances Barker therein; the said John Wickens having mortgaged the premises by indenture dated 19 August 1678 to William Nunn for a term of 500 years from 19 August 1680, from whose executor, Oliver Deane of Reydon, the said Frances Barker acquired his estate therein, and the mortgage having failed to fulfill the condition, her estate became absolute.
